I'm looking to purchase some video editing software and was looking at this product. I was wondering if I could get your folks imput on how it operates? I want to just make home videos and highlight tapes with all the effects and such as well. I puchased Pinnacle Studio V.10 but that program is worthless...even with the patch they came out with. I was just wondering if this program runs smooth and will allow me to do what I want to do. Also, does this program flow smoothly without glitches and such?
Any help/advice you can give will be greatly appreciated!

The best I can suggest is to download the trial versionGet it Here and see if it is what you are looking for.
If you browse the forum, you'll notice that people have had problems with it, myself included. However most of these are due to system setup problems. Whatever editing program you choose, most problems come down to system setups. Video editing is very tasking on computers.
IF you follow the recommended procedures listed at the top of this forum then you should be alright.
VS9 is geared to the consumer, where you can create video DVD's, VCD's SVCD's AVI's easier then with prosumer high end editors. I find the interface a lot easier to navigate and get the final result then others. For example I wish VS9 had more audio and video tracks available like Sony Vegas Studio 6. I don't like Vegas' interface, so for now I choose to stick with Ulead. In summary every product has it's problems, and don't judge by posts on this forum that the product is junk. The forum is here to help people having problems, so those that are not having problems don't come and post about there experiences...
Hope that helps you

In my opinion, the software is generally stable and has a lot of good feaures. I'm not a pro videographer by any means, just someone trying to make some home movies on DVD. But let me caution you. There are some issues with the software activation process, specifically, with activating the TBYB (Try Before You Buy) software. I was running the TBYB version, paid to activate it, then tried to apply the VS9 Patch. Got some kind of error stating ‘setup cannot find the VS9 installation’. The solution seems to be to get a full version of Ulead Video Studio 9 on cd somehow. I was given a download link by Ulead, and after a 10 hour download, a cryptic gui with just "?????" for button labels is presented to the user. I'm assuming I may not have a Korean language pack installed or something. Other forum users have reported that this does install okay, however, I haven't tried installing it yet as I'm in the process of building a new pc. Sorry I can't make a solid go/nogo recommendation but I haven't had a chance to really use the product fully what with all the install issues I went through.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Hi Lammy
I have used Video Studio for a while.
Video editing is very demanding on your pc and as such can cause problems.
Nothing is perfect in this world but I have had no reason to change from Ulead.
As you are thinking Video Studio go with the latest version---9---
And NO I wouldn’t consider it as junk.
If you go for video studio get the ‘Boxed Version’
