Why is DMF 4 reencoding Video Files - Solved!

Post by bt1968 »

I am bringing in DVD compliant mpeg files

Mpeg-2 Video
24 bits, 720x480
29.97 Frames/Sec
Variable Bit Rate 6400kbps

Audio Type: Dolby Digital Audio
Attributes: 48000 Hz
Bit Rate: 448 kbps

Any idea why it gives me the Converting Video Title when I try to burn.
It seems like my file should be DVD compliant.

I have the check box marked for do not convert MPEG Files. Any ideas?
Thanks

Did you do anything to the files you imported? Such as add a title, split, transitions, audio?
If so then it will need to re-encode them...

Nope - didn't do anything to them other than add them to a menu.

There's a checkbox that says "Do not render validate MPEG..."
Or something like that.

You need to have that checked.

just a question... is that video of yours in Dolby 5.1 format?
Who? Me?

Turns out that some of the movies in my project were I-frames only, mpeg-2 format, which for some reason, DVDMF has to re-encode for it to work.

Thanks for the replies.
