Auto Add Chapters is disabled; why?

Hi,

I'm using DVD Workshop 2 and I want to add 'auto chapters'. The help file has the instructions (below). In fact, I just want to add any chapters, but going through 3 hours of video and waiting for the right frame doesn't seem like a fun thing to do.

But the 'Auto Add Chapters' button is disabled after I've selected the video, so I can't do it. I don't understand. Why can this button be disabled?

Amazingly enough, I've actually done this before. But the interface doesn't give me any clues, and I can't work it out.

1.Go to Edit Step and select a video clip in the Title List.
2. Click Auto Add Chapters in the Options Panel to open the Scenes dialog box.

I've figured this out although I have no idea why this is the case.

You *must* add your video to the Title List using the 'Add Video' button. If you use the 'Video General' tab to add a video to this area and then drag it or select 'Add to Title List' from right-click, then the 'Auto Add Chapter' button will always be disabled.

Bizarre user interface... I hope this post helps someone else avoid the hour that I lost figuring it out

It made me think, I guess we are pretty fortunate to be a part of this evolution in technology that allows us so much flexability to create great home videos. On the other hand, don't ya hate being a beta tester for progams you pay gobs of money for? Oh well, just thinking out loud.

I have the same problem as "DiscCoasterPro". But using the "Add Video" button doesn't help me! Any other suggestions?

Sorry for the trouble.......Found a solution. Created a new project. Renamed my 2GB MPEG2 file and "Auto Add Chapters" was enabled again...strange!!
