Menus and sub-menus
I just recieved this software and love it so far. I'm making a slide show of my wedding and want to make sub-menus. I have not figured out how to do this and the instruction book that came with the software has no answer. Can anyone help? I've got the template that I want but I don't know how to make sub-menus. Please help.

There are only 2 levels of menu in MF. You can have main menu of your titles (separate items on the timeline). These can access submenus referring to each of the chapters into which you have divided your titles.
If that is not the answer to your problem, please ask specifically about what stage of the process that you have a problem with.

This is not a limitation of the DVD standard, you can have lots of menu levels (99? someone?) but one of the silliest limitations of DMF3 and 4.
Other software of much lower price (usually bundled) do whatever you want (Roxio, Sonic come to mind with very cheap things).
I would understand they wish to "push" DVD Workshop by limiting the numbers of levels to 2 or 3 but only one is ridiculous, and the main reason I deeply regret buying DVDMF4.

If your using MF4 this can be done to create sub-menus for slideshows one needs to create chapters.
After you create the slideshow (importing pictures).
While on the main timeline click on the export button (3rd down on left).
Export the slideshow to create an mpeg2 compliant video.
NTSC Example:
FrameSize = 720x480
Aspect Ratio = 4:3
Compression = 80%
Variable Bit Rate = 6000kbs
Audio = Dolby at 256kbs
After exporting the video delete the slideshow on the timeline and
Import the video you created (from above).
Then go into the create chapters menu. Create the chapters, note if
you select "Auto" each picture will become a chapter. I manually set
the chapters using the arrow key that seeks to the closest "I Frame".
After you create chapters go into the menu creation screen.
Click on "Advanced Settings" and make sure:
- "Add Title Menu" = Checked
- "Create Chapter Menu" = Checked
Then under the display you select the menu to use selecting the
drop down box to the right ofr "Currently displayed menu"
