MPG4 plugin activation code

MPG4 plugin activation code
After purchacing the VS9 upgrade I could not get the two plugins to download. The MPEG4 or the HDV. I sent a message to Ulead and they gave me a download FTP to get them from and I was able to download them just fine. When I tried to install the MPEG4 plugin it asks for an activation code. Anybody have any idea where I find that?

You'll get the activation code for the MPEG-4 plugin on Ulead's site. Click on the link on the main page, then enter your Serial Number. A new window'll pop up with the activation code and link to the plugin. You should turn-off your pop up blocker to allow the new window to pop-up. If you don't, you'll get that annoying '5 tries time-out', and you'll have to contact Ulead again and have them reset your Serial Number.

I might add that you should also turn off your firewallTelgaladhion_Greyskye wrote:You'll get the activation code for the MPEG-4 plugin on Ulead's site. When I tried to d/l the plugin, I had my pop-up blocker off, and could not access the download until I disabled my firewall...

I got the 5 trys and out. Tried all I could think of. I could get to their TW site but still could not make the plugin download work.
Then I contacted them through the support page and they responded with an FTP site for the two downloads. that all worked, i downloaded the two plugins but I still have activation code.

I had forgot about needing an activation code for this. So I went digging through my emails, ( I rarely trash anything, just spam) no email for activation. I knew this didn't require internet connection to activate. So with that I went back to Ulead's site and attempted to download again (already have the plugin). Couldn't download, got the busy signal (too many users).Choptop wrote:but I still have activation code.
Anyway there it was...
When you got the popup page for the FTP download link, which is contained in a small table. Just below the download link there is the Code. It stated to right it down or memorize it, as it will be needed later to install.
There's where your activation code is....

There is my problem, I saw that stated in their instructions. I never got that popup.
I tried my five times, on a coupla different computers. (yes with blocker disabled) and was not able to ever get the popup. Then I contacted Ulead support and they gave me a direct FTP which worked just fine. But it did not go through any pop up box, just straight to an FTP. Sooo... no message box with an activation number.
I'll just have to wait another day or two for a response from Ulead.

Ah but Trevor -- I too have the Microsoft V1 and V2 MPEG-4 codecs listed in VS 9 (plus DivX). But I have never successfully downloaded the Ulead mpeg-4 plug-in, and finally gave up. So that is not installed. My query, then, is whether you indeed have it installed since it is clearly not a Microsoft codec.

Hi Ken
As I mentioned I downloaded the patch from a FTP link.
The file was named:-
uvs_CodePack_patch_4in1.exe
This file seemed to install without the need for any serial numbers.
This did give me cause for concern, an e-mail to tech support seemed to get lost so I too gave up.
Can anyone confirm that it is the correct file for the Mpeg 4 plugin. And inform me how to check within VS 9 for the codec.
To be honest I don’t know why I bothered except it was free.
Thanks Trevor

Hi Trevor,
While going through the steps reference my above post, I received an email link from Ulead. Didn't email them and ask for it, just got it. The file was named:
MP4 Power Pack_PSP_4in1_RTM.exe
Now I'm getting a little confused. I already have the mpeg4 codec, so I'm a little nervous about messing with it right now, I don't want VS9 to get angry with me. Im working on 5 projects and don't need to do the reinstall tango...
