Hi
Quite a few have had this problem with no real solution.

The recommendation to use Wav files seems to work.

If I use MP3’s with a bit rate above 192 kbps I have problems.
192 or below seem to work ok.

Also, it seems that certain MP3 versions (e.g. Lame MP3) may cause problems.

:(
Hi,
Same thing happened to me, since last year with V9, since then I transform them to WMA,(almost same size as mp3) rather than WAV (size too big).

And no1 seems to know WHY...

Even if you get it imported you may have problems with AV synch/playback due to the way MP3/WMA are compressed vs. the timing of video frames.

Best plan is to convert all audio sources to WAV before using them in a video editor.

Generally I copy audio files to my hard drive and convert them to WAV files before inserting them in the timeline. There are a few free audio editors around that you can use. I use Goldwave.
