VS8 crashing when I try and capture video

Post by stephen »

I have just installed VS8 and it all works fine (I think!) apart from when I click on the Capture tab. As soon as I do this a box pops up headed "Change field order" which starts "processing" - it never goes beyond 10% and will not allow me to cancel. The only way I can get out of this is by switching off my computer with the power switch at the back of the main unit.

My computer runs windows XP, has 512Mb RAM, 250Gb hard drive, has built in analog capture.

I had managed to capture video using the supplied power producer software but felt that VS8 would give me more options. :(

I have looked in the forums and not found any similar problems.

Any suggestions?

I would try to provide UVS with a video feed when it tries to detect the field order. Once it sees a couple of seconds of video, it should be able to determine the correct field order and close the dialog.

Many thanks for the suggestion - I did try this out but it did not seem to work. I think I will give up on Ulead Videostudio as it seems to be the most complicated and bug ridden piece of software I have had the misfortune to come across. Unfortunately I paid £60 for it which I guess I can kiss goodbye to! Once again, many thanks for trying to help.
