Hi all. I've just purchased VS9, downloaded and installed successfully, but I'm having a bit of a problem with some of the Smart Download components.
I've downloaded everything, but ContentPack 1 and 2 do nothing when I double click them.
I've found the thread: http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=7135 which lists the downloads individually, but it's going very slowly.
The DVD Disk Recorder component starts to install, but then says it can't find VS9 on my system.
The DVDMenuBonusPack item complains that it can't find the DVD Menu Bonus Pack, and that I should install it first. Sounds a bit odd that I can't install a component unless I already have that component installed... I'm going to download the DVD Content_e.zip file and try that and see what happens.
Edit -> I've just installed the DVD Content_e.zip files, and the DVDMenuBonusPack from Smart Download still gives me the same error.
The other bits seem to have installed OK, so I'm crossing fingers that redownloading the dodgy files will work.
But if anyone has any thoughts on what's happening, it'd be appreciated. Also, as I've just purchased, do I need to download and install the VS9 patch or is it already integrated into the app?

Not much to add mate - just stay away from the so called "Smart Download"
At a guess, I would suggest that you have to download the patch once you get everything installed. Incorporating a patch into the base download would just lead to confusion for the Tech Support people i.e. "did you download before or after xth XXX, 2005? - if before you need the patch, if after you don't" - "duh, I can't remember whether I downloaded on the xth or the xth-1" and so on
So persevere with the individual downloads and hopefully everything will start working for you. I installed in the order of:
uvs9_upg
uvs9_contentpack_part1
uvs9_contentpack_part2.. uvs9_contentpack4
and after that I don't think it matters i.e. I think I did SmartSound, DVDMenuBonusPack, ddr2_foruvs9 and then C3DSE3
best of luck mate,
Peter

Thanks. I haven't got round to putting the patch on as there was some video I had to get edited sharpish. But it's done now (and all without reading the manual too!)
The re-downloading of the Content Packs seems to have fixed that problem.
The only thing I really want to install is the DVDMenuBonusPack, so I'll try downloading that again and see if it's any better.
