Movie Factory 3SE - Media Properties reports no audio

Post by Snake Plissken »

Recording to mpeg2 from PVR 150. In the media clip properties in Movie Factory the audio is reported as none. Clip plays fine but if any cutting is done on the clip, disc is burned with no audio. Checked with a friend who has same software and different capture card and the audio is recognized in media clip properties, software works fine. Is this a problem with files recorded by PVR 150 or a problem with my computer? As the audio is definitely there, what can I do to make the software recogize this?

Here's what I get when I open clip properties:

File format: MPEG-2
File Size - whatever
Duration - whatever

Video Type - MPEG-2 Video, Upper field first
Total Frames - whatever
Attributes, 24 bits, 720 x 576
Frame rate: 25 frames/sec
Data rate - variable bit rate

Audio type: NONE
Total samples:
Attributes:
Layer:
Bit rate:

When I load same file into WinDVD creator, Audio info displayed as 48000Hz, 16 bits, stereo

Took the mpeg file to a friend's computer, installed the software on his machine, and everything worked okay - So there is no problem with the actual file, just a problem with how it's seen in my installation of the software. I have no idea of how to fix this!

a codec in your computer might be messing with the program.

if you have installed any audio/video codec packs, try to remove them. You should only get/download codecs from the main author's site.
