SVCD video plays too wide on DVD player

I captured a clip fom my camera into Video Studio using the SVCD option and then created a SVCD under the share button.

When I play the CD on my DVD player it looks like it's stretched to wide.

Thoughts?

Check if your DVD player has options to change the display mode -- I have a portable Mintek DVD player that by default stretches all video to fit the widescreen LCD, which distorts it. If I change the display mode from FULL to NORMAL, the video displays correctly with black bars on either side of the video.
