New User - Can I slow down a video clip (slow motion)????

Post by morgarch123 »

I've never used this product before. Hoping someone can help me. I read on a Ulead press release that I could do slow motion on captured video and then burn it on a cd. Does anyone know how?

Thanks

Morgy

Unless they have just recently changed MF4DC, no that is not possible with Movie Factory. You can do that in Video Studio, or Media Studio Pro..

You can do it in MSP, not sure about VS but think so. It's a bit more involved than what it sounds like, due to the interlaced upper/lower field issue. To slow down a video, because you cannot slow down the frame rate, newly created frames (copies of the previous one) are added to the clip by the software. Hence, the clip takes longer to play.

In VS it does the same thing, just adds frames to the video. For example to slow down the video from 100% to 50% would double the clip size. In VS 8 & 9 there is a button labeled Playback Speed.
