What the hell? My tools stick? PI11

Post by OmenLW »

why the heck are my tools sticking to the edges of my project?

when i try to paint, my tool sticks to the border of my project!!!

i cant let my paint brush go beyond the boundries of my image...

how can i turn this "new feature" off!?!

if there is no fix, this alone will make me uninstall pi11 and get my money back... its impossible to paint, or erase parts of objects that are close to the edge of my project...unless i resize my tool, which changed the softedge, transparency etc...

come on Ulead, fix this please

I had the same problem (among many others). I posted it here somewhere and reported it to Ulead. I have sought and gotten my refund; the software is unusable as it stands. Maybe Ill check out the 'revised' version if/when it comes out.

Not good from Ulead.

No confirmation here, can move painting tool (like Paintbrush) beyond image boundaries, so fe. I exit on the left border and enter at the bottom border.

Do you use some non-standard mouse drivers, like Logitech's? Try to upgrade your graphics card drivers as well. I haven't heard about this problem so far.

My system is stock standard; no fancy stuff at all. PI 10 (and all versions since 4) worked perfectly.

Some caps on my site www.pcanytime.co.nz/up11.htm showing the cursor error and my main beef - (the one that makes it really unusable) - the graphics corruption during editing.

davenz knows EXACTLY what im talking about....

i HATE the fact that my tool gets stuck on the edges like that...

my screencapture doesnt work in PI11 also like many others...

Small addition- the slower you move pointer through image boundary, the longer freezing time, maxing at about 1 second.
When pointer is moved quickly, the freeze is unnoticeable or negligible. Also, the freeze does not happen when I use a tool (ie. move with left mouse button pressed).
"Workarounds"
- use image window not larger than image
- move pointer out of image area are with a quick move

Irritating problem, btw.

1. the Painting tool cursor sticking problem – it’s fixed, and will be put into PI11 patch

2. the text rendering problem mentioned inside the link http://www.pcanytime.co.nz/up11.htm - actually it’s not a bug, the user might accidentally turned on an option “Highlight inactive selections and objects” in Preference dialog.

3. for other problems, they are currently working on that and hopefully will be included in the coming patch...

thank you

This is a good news :!:

One small suggestion for Ulead here- create a WWW page (RSS channel would be nice also) with confirmed bugs. Please. Adobe does something like that.

Hi. I posted the link above and I did try that setting - it made no difference. However, I have since changed hardware on my machine and this problem no longer manifests itself. The sticking tool bit does though, and thats enough to drive me crazy and not use PI 11. I use 10 and it is fantastic for what I want to do.

I appreciate the fact you obviously monitor the forums and that Ulead is making the effort to repair some of the fallout caused by PI 11.

Cheers
