Hi,
I am at a bit of a loss with VS8 at the moment.
Having had no problems connecting my Sony DCR-HC18 digital camcorder to my PC via Firewire and capturing successfully, i now seem to have developed a problem.
When trying to capture 60mins of footage the other day, for some reason it only recorded about half the tape.
When trying to capture the rest of the tape, my PC recognises that i've connected the Sony via Firewire and asks if i want to run VS8. Everything's then fine until i hit the capture tab in VS. My PC freezes for about 10 mins then i get an error saying the following:
Unable to switch to capture mode
Check if your video capture driver is working properly
Cannot preview
Now i don't know if something has been corrupted on my pc, but i was wondering if anyone else had experienced something similar and what would they recommend i try?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Jason

No, I haven't had a similar experience...
However the error may be telling you something to investigate
Have you tried looking into that?Check if your video capture driver is working properly
