how about a bing bong?

It seems endless to sit watching the percentage rise 1.... 2... etc. to 100 percent. I'd go read a book if VS8 would go bing bong or buzz like a microwave oven does. Couldn't Ulead put such a sound signal in every action that takes a long and uncertain-length time?

If you're talking about burning a DVD there may be a workaround. In my situation anyway, the drive opens and slides the DVD out when it is done. You could always dangle a little bell in front of the drive....

Heh - not really; most things work pretty well there..

Only thing I've done lately was to modify my flying checklist. The aero club gave me this new you beaut checklist they had produced (all Mooney pilots should use this...); trouble was it was printed in a booklet you had to leaf through. Not easy in a cramped cockpit.
It worked a lot better by condensing it, printing it out on a small sheet which was glued to cardboard then covered with clear plastic film. Stick that to the control wheel with blu-tack and you're set
