There's a good example of very bad User Interface design in DVD Workshop version 2 which I have to mention.
The DVD Workshop v2 Windows does not not allow the user to resize the window. There's only maximise and close.
This is one thing, but it's also not smart enough to take account of the windows task bar height. Mine is obviously larger than it expects and it doesn't cater for it. Which means that I can't possibly see the bottom 2cm or so of my DVD Workshop window.
This is a major problem because if you add more than 6 clips to your DVD, then the only way to scroll to the clips above 6 is to grab the scrollbars at the bottom of the window.
Unfortunately, if you can't see the bottom 2cm of the window you cannot see or use this scrollbar. Which is the situation I am in now.
The moral of the story is: Never take away basic window functionality offered by the Operating System.
Can't resize Window so can't see some controls

I agree with you. While beta-testing WS2, I pressed hard for a standard Windows GUI, but this was disregarded. If they want the tabs layout within an ordinary window, then that's their decision. Let's hope that they listen next time round (whenever that will be: no news on that front!).
