can even get the program installed!

Post by JETA »

I tried the trial version and just bought the full version.

I downloaded the program and when I try and install it this is the pop up I get.

"The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The excutable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify it's integrity, and try again."

WTheck??????????

I've uninstalled the program, downloaded it again and I keep getting the same thing.

Could someone PLEASE help me????? TIA!

You might need to contact tech support as they may give you a redownload link instead. :D

So no one moderates this board and supports buyers of their products?

It was a major undertaking to get this program to work with no help from Ulead. Now if I can get the program to quit crashing.

You might start by listening to what people or your error messages say. It is not that hard to understand, your download has been corrupted during the downloading process. That's that. You cannot hold anyone responsible for that and definitely not Ulead. If the source file for the download was corrupted, yes, but then others would have the same problem.

Your problem may be caused by interrupts during download, glitches in your transmission from/to your ISP, virus scanners or firewall settings, other background tasks on your computer taking up 100% CPU time for short periods of time (not uncommon if you use all the "improvements" to the OS by Microsoft), you name it.

Stop ranting and give us something to go by, I'm sure we can get this sorted but not the way you have been trying so far.

Even if someone from Ulead was moderating this board and willing to help users like yourself, where should they be starting? You have given us nothing except "It doesn't work!" You can only get help if you are actually trying to help as well. If you call a plumber and tell him you got water in your bedroom, I'm sure he could help in the blink of an eye, over the phone.

Like I said.
"The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The excutable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify it's integrity, and try again."
I quoted the error message, wrote Ulead and posted here. I'm not quite sure what other info I have other the the error message.

My only info wasn't IT DOESN"T WORK. If 'users like you' weren't so quick to jump on new people and read what they wrote there would be more people posting here. There's a lot to be said for a friendly atmosphere versus a rude and derogatory one.

I dabble quite a bit in chemistry and have posted on a board about it for years. Newcomers ask the silliest questions all the time. Instead of putting down the newcomer I ask for more information to help narrow down their problem. If they haven't seen the search function I tell them where it is along with posted urls to threads that may have the info they need.

It's much easier to be nice and helpful then to put down newcomers. They catch on and all is good. Makes for a good board.

Bryave, thank you for your help. In the end my file wasn't corrupted. I had to adjust my java settings and add another program to get the slideshow to work. I see that you post to a lot of people here and are helpful. It's appreciated from people like me. Thanks again.
