any books or good guides?

There's gotta be a reason why this program sells for so much money. Yet after looking at a program like DVD Lab or DVD Architect, i have to wonder. Can DVDWS do all the stuff that those programs can? I've explored quite a bit as much as I think is possible with the program, but it just seems like a very simple feature set... I'm sure I'm missing a lot of stuff, it would be really good if there were a book out on the program tha teaches you everything the manual doesn't...

There is a good reason why DVD WS2 sells so well: it's the best authoring software. It may seem simple to use (it is!) but it is packed full of versatile features that you won't find elsewhere. Of course, a few other programs (usually very modern) may have this or that feature that WS2 does not, you can't think of everything! But it is the most versatile authorer on the market for less than a thousand bucks, even the Express version. As for books. just Google dvd workshop book and you'll find enough to satisfy you.

I found a couple of books that came up and a DVD from VASST.. The DVD actually looks like what I need as it goes into the advanced stuff.. anyone have either of the books? Saw some good ratings on amazon for one of them...

I have another book by the same author Instant DVD Workshop2. It gave me everything I needed to know that the manual didn't have. However, the course book that your link points to looks even better, and being on sale it is the same price I paid for mine. I think that it's what you're looking for.

By the way, I got the VASST DVD too. It was good, and had one trick that I didn't find in the book (may be in the course book though). However, being that most of the information was in the book I found the price a little steep.
