Brightness

I have been having one problem that has me pulling out my hair...when i film the lighting is perfect on my camera but when i download it to my computer it is substantially darker...So then i have to take the time during editing to lighten the picture...Does anyone out there have a clue as to what the problem is because i have hit a brick wall and it just takes more work and effort to edit the clips to provide a good product which i continually strive to do.

I am using ulead 7

Did you calibrate your monitor? Does the footage come out darker in the final render and played on TV?

Ulead 7?? MSP 7 or VS 7? Clip properties etc.?

Hi thanks for your response...i figured it out that it is the monitor but how do you calibrate it...i am a newbie at this stuff but trying hard to learn fast..help

I've always noticed that DV .avi's tend to be darker on my computer screen than when played back on a TV. I have a connection from PC-toTV Monitor so I can see how it will look on a TV -- for when I think there's a concern about brightness.
