Error Problems with 7 SE DVD

Post by cdarden9 »

I've been working with several different files trying to burn them to my external DVD burner for several days now. Every time, after waiting for hours for the files to be converted, just as it starts to burn or test for burning...I get this error.

"Failed to record data to the disc. Error DVDR-DAD-SPT1-2A-02-04-09-01"

Any ideas what is going on and how I can fix it.

Thanks in advance,

Clint

The simple fact of the matter is that they should not be being converted during the burning process. You should first convert the files to DVD-compatible mpeg-2 format (Share > Create video file > DVD). Once you have those DVD compatible files, you close your old project, and open the burning module (Share > Create Disc > DVD) and then add your converted files, make your menu etc and burn. Though VS is supposed to be able to convert on the fly, long experience on this Board has established that this should be avoided as it almost invariably causes problems.

Thanks Ken...I'll try that.

I did try using the converted video that VideoStudio made over on DVD Movie Factory 2.0 SE and it came up with the same error as well.

Reinstall the software???
