version 7 to version 8 - a function has disappeared!

Version 7 of UMSP had a tiny button, "audio transition", which allowed to fade out/fade in audio in transitions. Version 8 has automatic audio transition function, it works all right but suppose I reset the volume of the audio clip? This command restores the original volume of the audio clip, but unfortunately it also erases any trace of audio transition. In the old version I just hit the audio transition button again and the audio transition restored, but version 8 has no such button and I have to add fade in / fade out manually which is a tricky procedure, due to the new timeline design (one can't just select that part of the clip within the transition). The only way round is to move the clip to another track (temporarily), apply the fade out / fade in manually and then replace the clip onto its original position.
