ULEAD SHOPPING MALL

Post by BarryS »

Beware of ULEAD SHOPPING MALL this is conducted via ELEMENT 5 in Germany. I ordered Media Studio Pro 8 via this method as the agents in Australia only carried full versions and you had to wait for an upgrade with no timeframe for delivery. Since then a new agent has been appointed but this does not help me.
The problem is ELEMENT 5 take the money and pass the ordering info to ULEAD but nothing happens! Any contact attempted through the ULEAD Sales Web Site refers you straight back to ELEMENT 5 who then refer you straight back to ULEAD who then refer you straight back to ELEMENT 5! NO ONE WILL TAKE “RESPONSIBILITY” for Delivery of the product!!! Sorry ULEAD NOT GOOD ENOUGH
I have now cancelled the order, only time will tell if we recover my $AUD 450 + but I can assure you we are now looking elsewhere for a product that will edit in HDV.
This seems to be the only way to get ULEAD to acknowledge a BIG problem they have, be assured I will NEVER use this method of obtaining one of their products again, First & Last. If it is not available locally too bad I will look elsewhere! END one customer and probably many more once they take this in.

Well, I had a couple of problems with Element 5, they refused to accept my main credit card twice and I had to give them another one... Of course, I only bought from them ESD version -- they were quite fast, I received the download link from them almost immediately after my payment has been accepted...

Literally, Element 5 receives thousands upon thousands of orders, daily. They represent some 30,000 software publishers from over 150 countries, so they are really big business. I have never had the slightest problem working with them. They have always been prompt, efficient and courteous.

I suspect that the attitude of the original poster may give us a clue behind his story. Not only does he display linguistic arrogance and aggressiveness in the way he expects everyone to drop tools to serve him personally, but he has posted the same message on every single forum here, most of which have nothing to do with the MSP8 that he claims he ordered. This is just plain unintelligent, because anyone seeing this will realise he is ranting, rather than expressing a complaint in a normal manner. He is therefore defeating his own purpose.

Where Ulead have been intelligent is shown by their not deleting the rants, which could have been interpreted as an admission that something was wrong.

Where I have been unintelligent is responding to this thread

I've never had a problem with E5....EVER.

What you may want to consider is that a problem with a credit/debit card can occur in the credit cards system. E5 has to connect with them for validation, and if that connection is screwed up or their servers are down nothing goes through.

I've had this happen not only with online retailers but also at regular stores, and almost every time it's been either the card company or, in the case of debit cards, the bank computer that caused the problem.

Only once was it otherwise, and that was when a construction crew dug up an underground fiberoptic cable and dropped out every stores internet connection for 5 miles.

Well, I have a stoopid problem with Element 5, something that their telephone support could not solve. When you buy something from a seller that uses E5, you don't know about it till the transaction is almost complete. Meanwhile, every time you buy something, E5 create a new username for you. I have rdenny@dc3.com-1 through rdenny@dc3.com-9 wiith them so far  So in order to see what's going on with an order I have to know which one of the 9 identities I have with E5!!! It's not just ULead, other sellers I have bought from also use E5.

It's a stupid system in my opinion. I think it makes more sense to be able to log in with an existing E5 identity before proceeding with a new purchase. But because they HIDE themselves behind their sellers' facades, you never know!!! The option to save your info ONLY applies to your current purchase. By the time you get that option, it's too late and you have yet another identity!!!

So far I have only good experiances with E5. One time I canceled the order of a product which I had downloaded per internet (prog and licence), because I was not satisfied with it (not from ULEAD). Even this worked and I got my money back within a few days. Ok, it was a little bit complicated, but I understand that they need to protect from criminals.

The identity problem can I confirm. I meanwhile have at least 3 identities alone from orders from ULEAD! (So it does not depend on the vendor.)

But with one thing can I agree with the original poster: Buying from ULEAD MALL is not easy. It seems that it works only if you use MS IE. Since I am using now normaly Opera for about half a year, I had great difficulties upgrading to MSP8. Every time I wanted to order, my shopping basked was suddenly empty. Also it was not possible to order PhotoImpact at the same time. As I finaly decided to use (exceptionaly) IE, I was told, that my serial number had been locked, because it had been used too often and that I should contact the support. I had difficulties to do so, because I was redirected to german store and so on. (Contacting tech support is easier.) As I finally succeeded to fill out a web form, I expected to get some answer mail telling me that they would proceed the order or that I could now try again. Nothing happened. After a month with no answer (the trial version did now no longer work for weeks) I decided to try again - this time at once with IE. My serial number had been unlocked and I succeded. If they had notified me, I could had ordered much earlier.

Never had such trouble with other webshops, even so many of them use E5. All work fine with Opera - why not ULEAD? Are they paid from M$ ?

Last year I wanted to upgrade VS8 to VS9. I live in Taiwan but wanted the English version but don't speak or read Chinese. I went online and ended up buying off the Ulead site and of course this went through E5. I was willing to pay for delivery from another country because I could'nt be bothered with the hassle of trying to do the whole language thing here.
Within hours (and I really mean hours) I recieved an e-mail from Ulead sales saying they had cancelled the order closely followed by an e-mail from E5 confirming cancellation. I then recieved an e-mail from Ulead advising me that there was no need to lose money on delivery and that they would organise an English upgrade for me providing a special link through their Taiwanese Ulead Mall. Followed the link, purchased the upgrade through E5 again...no problem...had the software two days later.
I see no problem here.
