Studio 9 won't initalize into actual program

Post by studioman »

I've installed VideoStudio 9 and when I go to open it up and use it it starts out great like it's going to open up and work, The chick smiling pops up and it asks me what I want to do, when I click on where I want to go like video editing it looks like it's going to go into the program then just goes blank, it won't intialize into the program, it does that in studio 8 also, this happened to me before and I got it working again, I just can't for the life of me figue out how to make this GO into the actual VideoStudio 9 program without just going blank all together.

I have completely uninstalled the program including in the registries. I am using XP home with service pack 2.

Suggestions and corrections please,

Thanks in advance.[/b]

Hi Studioman :)

So we know that your OS is XP, SP2...Should work fine..except if your running it on an old 386 system...

What's your system specs...Ram, HDD size, free space..etc?
What other applications are you running at the same time? You might try shutting down antivirus, instant messaging, internet connections, anything that is running in the background that is not needed..

It also might be a corrupt install file. Did you purchase the boxed or ESD (download) version?

Regards :)

2.8 gig, gig of ram, I have 110 gig of free space. I run nothing at the same time. I had this installed before and it worked fine then just stopped, it's a purchase (disc). I also have studio 8 and it does the same thing with that. How can you tell if the install is now corrupt when it wasn't before?

Thanks, cause this is frustrating.

Again, what happens is this:

I click on the Ulead Videostudio 9 desktop icon, then the page comes up that says VideoStudio 9, underneath that are options to click on:
DV to DVD Wizard,
Movie Wizard,
VideoStudio Editor,
It doesn't matter which one I choose,
After I click on what I want another page comes up with the Ulead woman holding the mini camcorder, then that page disappears and a blue bar is left that appears to be trying go into the program that I clicked on but then that disappears also and so does the StudioVideo program, just like if I had clicked the X in the right hand corner to end the program, I would have to again clcik the Studio 9 icon but the program won't initalize into any of the wizards or anything, it just disappears.

If you have Microsoft Windows Installer 3.x on your PC try uninstalling it for a test. If this does not help, then go to MS site and reinstall. But I have to keep it uninstalled.

I've had a similar thing happen to me. However only the blue progress bar could be seen. I think I just rebooted and it fixed my problem, and I know that's not helping you.

Have you been able to use VS recently, say within the last few weeks? Do you have your system restore active and set that at certain times a restore point is created? If so that might be one way to get back to a working program. Set a restore point (current), so you can undo if it doesn't work. Back up any and all important data. Then try to go back to an earlier time...
