CAN THIS PROGRAMME BE USED BY AUSTRALIANS? I THINK NOT

Where is Australia in the list of countries ??? . I recieved Video Studio 7 bundled with some hardware on my computer.I have a leadtec dv2000 capture card. VS 7 finds this device but cant tune to local tv due to Australia not being on the list. I sent an email to Ulead regarding this 6 mths ago and they didnt bother to reply.

There has been at least 30 people read this post and no-one seems to know if Australia can be added to the list of countries so i can tune into tv with this programme.I noticed Davo has the exact same problem , and he's been around longer than me.,and has not been given a response(except from me)It looks to me like Ulead do not cater for Aussies !!!! I hope their ceo's dont want to visit here at all soon because i aint throwing no shrimp on the barbie for them!!!!

Your first post was for many of us in the middle of the night and the second was in the middle of the night for virtually everyone else, the fact that 30 people read your post and did not respond simply means that that particular 30 did not know the answer - but with a 1200 odd users it is quite likely that if you have a little patience some one like me will come along and supply the answer.

The fact that we have many regular contributors to this board from Australia indicates that it can indeed be used succesfully by Australians.

The answer to your problem is very simple - upgrade to version 8 and you will find Australia in the list of countries - definitely.

Well guys thankyou for the replies !! For starters maybe me being a little ticked off was directed wrongly at Ulead and should be directed at the computer company that sold me the programme in the first place in a format that is not suitable to Australia. Too many times i have bought programmes that have needed patches , updates etc etc and when i go to the relevent sites i find these patches are 6 mths old and new discs should have been issued instead.If i sold you a new car with a known problem and you found that iit needed a week in the workshop the day after you bought it you would have to be a little ticked off about that. And before you say it i know development is important but dont sell me something new that has a known and pre fixable problem.This practice by vendors is giving companies like ulead a bad name. Why should i run all round the net in my time trying to fix something i bought brand new in good faith thinking that it would work the way i was told it would . Also i'd like to see VS 7 work before i spend more money on any upgrades.Again thanks for you replies and I'm not that ticked off it's only a hobbie for me.(thank god)

FWIW, I just loaded the DV2000 card on my computer here yesterday (I live in Canberra). Only bought it at a computer fair on Saturday. It came bundled with VS 8 SE (and Ulead's DVD Movie Factory/ DiscCreator 3 SE). So it seems the card manufacturers at least have picked up on the problem...?

In point of fact I have the full versions of both programs. The card works fine in VS 8.
