Can't set chapter point
After importing an .mpg file with audio and video into DVD Workshop I can set chapters points all the way to 1:30:00:00 into the project. I need to set the last chapter at 1:51:20:00 and it will not set. If I type in the time-code the marker jumps back to 00:06:03:00 and if I drag the timeline to 1:51:20:00 it automatically jumps back to 00:06:03:00. I can drag through the clip and see all video but if I release the mouse at the point I want the chapter, the marker moves back. This happened once before and resolved itself, but nothing I do now helps. I've rerendered the video from Premiere Pro, and tried different settings, but nothing works. I am using the same settings I have always used and nothing has been updated on my computer. I do about 3 projects a week using the EXACT same methods and have never had this happen to this extreme. any ideas???
I've had a similar problem.
1. Try deleting the thumnail (Right-click, delete), and then re-open the file.
2. If that doesn't work, try renaming the video file, or copying it and opening the new file.
In my case, I had made a change, making the file longer, but DVD Workshop seemed to "remember" the old (shorter) length.

Try running the file through VideoReDo.

Use "Quick Stream Fix" to straighten out the time stamps in the file. Hopefully, that will fix it for you.

Solution Found
Well, I finally found a solution to my DVD Workshop problem. After calling tech support and speaking to them, they said they would get back to ma and never did., so I tried everything to get the problem resolved with no results.
The resolution? I bought Adobe Encore DVD. Now the menus work like they should (they never did with DVDWorkshop), etc. I don't need to go into every pathetic detail about DVD Workshop. I like the program because I could quickly author a DVD, but if the DVD isn't going to work then it's no good to me. None of the 30 DVD's I've authored since using Encore has failed in any way. Long story short, I have DVD Workshop Version 2 for sale if you know anyone interested. I'll take the first decent offer. I'm sure Ulead would let us transfer ownership and registration.

Re: chapter bug solved - Can't set point past xx hr xx min
Workshop chapter creation bug - Can't set chapter point past 01hr 08min
Seems like a corrupt mpg2 file also causes this problem. ( A test with adobe encore trial showed my file was corrupted ). DWS 'remembers' the end of file / last point at which a chapter point could be created.
Delete the project and its folders. Delete the thumbnail of the file from the project window. Create a totally new project with a different name and import a 'new' re-named version of the mpg file.
Also make sure that you supply a folder name when creating a project. Else DWS will happily create some stuff in 'common' folders on the hard drive - more areas for chapter points, etc. to linger ?
