Overlay Video Problem

Post by Sonofdad »

G'Day all,

I'm having a problem with Video Studio 8, I have a long chunk of footage that I have filmed on my DV camera (all in 16:9) that I have cut up and re-ordered, which is all sweet, but in the project I have placed parts of the video over others using the overlay video stream (I think that's what it's called - the one below the primary stream) and it all plays fine when I play it back in Ulead, however when I render the project as a whole the overlay tracks keep coming up in 4:3, so the video keeps jumping from wide screen to (stretched) full screen and back again. I had the "fit to screen" option checked, so I turned that off and stretched the overlay tracks manually and now they either don't quite cover the whole screen (which is useless) or they just come up full screen which is also no good. When I render the project as "same as project settings" this fixes the aspect ratio problem but now there is no audio.

Am I doing something wrong?

I would appreciate any help as I am actually doing this for a Uni application and I need to get it sorted! :)

Cheers.

Hi

First of all check the File-Project Properties are set to 16:9 aspect ratio.
That File-Project Properties- Edit- use non-square pixel rendering

With the re-size tabs showing
Right click the overlay image on the preview screen to select further options these may help!

Anchor at ‘centre—centre’

Keep aspect ratio

Then try

Fit to screen from the left panel.

When you render make sure you have select 16:9 ratio.
