VS9 crashes when playing flash file

Post by david_h »

I installed the vs9 upgrade version over the top of vs8 months ago and until recently never had any problems playing flash animation files. Now when I try to play back any flash animation from the vs9 library the software crashes. All I get is the standard Windows message that tells me I have encountered a problem.

Can anyone help me with any ideas?

Could you please provide more information, system specs, file format (mpeg, DV-AVI type 1 or 2, WMV..), when you are playing back, do mean just previewing in the preview window, or Share>Project Playback?

Not enough info example:
My car doesn't run as good as it has in the past. When I turn the key in the ignition it just doesn't run right. Can you tell me why?

One question I have when I see that VS9 was performing ok, and now doesn't is, What has changed on the system? Ulead seems selfish when it comes to this.

Also are you talking about the provided Flash Animations or ones that you created in a Flash authoring program?

System is 2.8Ghz Windows XP home with 512Mb RAM and 30 GB spare hd space. The project property is set to MPEG. The problem will occur when I try and run one of the provided flash animations in the preview pane. There does not have to be any content in the project for the problem to occur, so it is not related to my content

I can't say specifically what has changed on my system. Just the usual Microsoft security patches and Norton AV updates.

Thanks for your help
