Hard Drive Space

Post by Shush »

I bought VideoStudio 9 and installed it onto my D drive, which has 100 gigabytes of space on it. But when I import footage and work with it, I find that the computing is being done on my C drive, which only has a few gigs of space. By the time I'm ready to create a DVD, I never have enough space left and I have to close the whole program.

Am I doing something wrong? :(

You fairly obviously did not change the working folder from C:\ drive to the one with your larger disc space: File > Preferences > Working Folder on the first tab. You should also change the folder for the previews on the fourth tab. And make sure the new working folder is also specified in the burning module Setting and Options icon in the bottom left of the burning screen.

Something to watch for if you're capturing analogue to your D: drive is the rate of dropped frames, which is a problem for me. I capture onto C: then move it onto my big drive for working on. (This is despite my F: drive being a faster access drive and disabling write-behind caching).
