Cannot capture! (MPG format)

Post by lehos24 »

I am using Ulead Video Studio 8. This message "Cannot capture" just drives me nuts. I am trying to capture video from my digital camera Sony DCR-HC20 and whenever I set the frame framesize to something else than 640X480 then I get this message. After this I have to close and open the program again in order to get it to work at least with my 640x480 frame size. What is going on?

Not sure if this will help you?
But what version of Windows Installer do you currently have installed.

My UVS9 would not capture when I have version 3.x installed, so I have to Uninstall it to use UVS9 and then reinstall it to apply updates, then uninstall it again. But I love UVS9 more than Windows installer 3.x.

Thanks,
George.

PS Control Panel, Add Remove programs. To uninstall.

I assume that the video on the tape is recorded at 640x480, so that's the format that will be transferred to your hard disk. It doesn't make since to change the format during "capture". The fact that you're locked-out after trying a different setting sounds like a bug in VS to me.

Is that camera really MPEG???
