I can only save my images as ufo files. This happened to me once before, but when I ran my antivirus scanners, the problem was resolved. This time, however, this resolution didn't work. Please help!
Thank you very much!

Cindy-are you using PI's Image Optimizer (F4) or going through the menu File/Save As to save your image?
Going through the Image Optimizer (F4) will only give you three choices: JPG, GIF and PNG. Depending on which format you choose, you have to enter your save preferences there. (Like a JPG at 85 compression, Standard Optimized (don't pick Progressive!), No subsampling, etc.)
If you are using "File/Save As/Save as type" for saving your images, you'll get a lot more options in saving your file. The default for that dialog box is .UFO, but if you click on the little arrow on the right, you'll open a drop down menu with the other file extensions you can use.
If you don't have any other extensions available there, then you need to change your settings in PI's Preferences/General/Open & Save dialog box. Make sure you have "List all File Formats in Save As Dialog Box" checked. Then click OK and exit PI. The options should show up the next time you open PI.

Ah, but if you save your image as a JPG through PI's Image Optimizer (F4) and not through the "File/Save as" menu you don't even have to merge your objects to the base image.
If you accidently have one of your objects selected, as you go into the Image Optimizer, PI will ask you if you want to optimize only the single object or the entire image. Check "Entire Image" and PI will take in the entire image, objects and all.
This way you can have your cake and eat it too because you can save your image as a UFO file and continue to edit it, while saving the work in progress as JPGs.
Win/Win situation in my book.
