Please bear with me, I am new to DVD burning. I have DVD MovieFactory 3.5. It came bundled with my PC. I am trying to create a DVD from my Sony Mini DV camcorder. I have no problems with anything other than the quality of the output.
I changed the resample quality under preferences to Best and tried another DVD. The quality is still sub par to what I get when I get if I plug my camcorder into the tv and play it directly. It is just crisper than what I get when I burn to the DVD. Am I missing something here?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I think I am getting the hang of this a little bit better. I must say, the software is not very intuitive.
Under the Video and Audio Capture Property Settings dialog box there is a setting for video quality.
Video quality slider Only available when capturing in MPEG format. Drag the slider to the left to decrease the video quality or to the right to increase the video quality. The quality of the video depends on the overall performance of your computer. If dropped frames occur during capturing, decrease the quality of your video.
The default is 80. When you preview while capturing it 80, the video is very smooth. I moved this to 100 and it is jerkier, like it is when using Microsoft Movie Maker. The result when burned to DVD is much better. I think it is just as good as what shows up when I plug my camcorder directy into the tv.
There are no hardware issues. XP Pro on Velocity Micro, Athlon 64 X2 2GHz with 1 gig ram. It is amazing how technology begets technology. The camcorder is about 3 years old. Got it when the last child was born. Just got a Sony HD tv this summer. Now it's amazing when watching the home movies how much I yearn for a new Sony HD DVD camcorder. Until you see that price. Ouch!!!
