crackling audio.....please help!!

Post by moranmatt »

I'm using MSP7 and working solely with video/audio that was imported from a DVD. When trying to do any sort of layering of audio (even just two tracks!), I get a clicking sound in the audio. The Source window plays the audio just fine (i.e. all the footage and it's corresponding audio sound great on their own), so it doesn't seem to be coming from either of the tracks individually, but rather from the layering of them. I tried lowering the volume to less than 50% on each track to see if it was some sort of volume overload or distortion, but that doesn't help, and I'm not working with MP3 audio here, so I can't figure out what the matter is! Can someone help me?

I wish people would get used to giving us something to work with. :?

Did you load any patches for MSP7? System spec's, sound card, clip/project properties?

No...I didn't load any patches. Just the 3 update packs, which someone else suggested I do. Should I load these patches, and if so, how do I do that? (I'm sorry for not giving you "more to work with." I'm a computer idiot, and pretty much don't know what the heck I'm doing most of the time. Computer lingo is greek to me.)

also, yes..I posted this two other times, but I accidentally kept posting it under the "video studio" forum. See? computer idiot! What did I tell you?
