Red line across my time line

Been working on a soccer film and am up to about 10 minutes when I was cutting a flim clip a red line appeared across my time line from the point where I was clipping a clip to the beginning of my film. Now I can't get rid of it and it also will not let me change the time of a transition I am trying to place. How do I get rid of it?

I should also add when I play it back my film always stops at the end of the line.
