Post by cyrez »

What a nightmare i am trying to reposition a video clip in video mode as it catters for Effects and stuff but in overlay mode it does not it only allows u to do fade in and out

Why or how can i reposition the video clip or clips in on video track, because i want to be able to start a video off with Text first then the movie clips later. But want to be able to add all the nice effects overlay mode dont allow the effects :( or does it or am i doing something wrong

You can position clips in the overlay track, but not the main track. VS9 doesn't support full motion paths. We are stuck with the 45 degree paths, enter and exit.

Now for being able to add effects to clips on the overlay, it is done in the same manner as for the main track.
Click on the drop down menu, located to the top right, and select Video Filters. Then you will see appear below several filters. Just drag and drop one on to your clip in the overlay track..
Make sure your on the Edit tab.
Then in the upper left corner you should see 2 tabs, video and attribute.
With a clip highlighted, click on the attribute tab.
In the box beneath is where you can see all the attributes(effects) that have been added to the clip.

Hope I didn't confuse you. I wanted to explain how to add and effect, and how to check to see what effects have been added.
