On the contrary, PhotoImpact is a stable program. I for one do not experience any of the problems that are submitted to this forum. And there's a lot more of users like me. But of course, the ones who will most likely post here are those (very small percentage of users) who are having problems with the software. You can't really help these problems from occuring. Not every single computer in the world have the same settings and softwares installed. Then of course, there's the usage factor.

The fact of the matter is, if you want to have the patch released soon, users like you would have to help. Submit your system information and sample files that are being used when you experienced the problem. Because unless Ulead can simulate the problems you are describing, it won't be able to release a patch for it. You can't fix what ain't broken.

PI11 a stable program ??? Are you joking ?

PI10 was a stable program. Not PI11.

The problems I encounter are well know.

Just two questions:

. can you access to the screen capture setup dialog (that's very important for my daily work) ?
. haven't you got any gpf when launching PI11 ?

Yep - I can do screen capture with no problem.

What's gpf? If you're talking about loading problems, then I'd say I've never encountered any...

. You can access to the screen capture setup dialog (activated with the Ctrl + Shift + E sequence key or the menu File / Screen Capture / Setup) with PI11 ???

. As for the problems during loading, five minutes ago, i've launched PI11 three times before succeeding !!! The two first launchs where aborted by an error in module u32Jpg.fio

BTW, PI11 TBYB damaged also PI10's screen capture setup. Fortunately, after uninstalling 11 and repairing 10's installation all came back to normality.

OmenLW, can you tell me how you can 'repair' a PI11 install ?

If I use the add/remove feature or if I use the original installation file, the only choice I have is to remove all the components !

Thank you for your reply.

repair

Reinstalling the software would be a better option than simply repairing it.

When you install a software, the installer extracts temporary files needed for the installation on a temp folder. These folders are usually:
C:\Windows\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Temp

If the temp folder holds old installer files that may be corrupted or are duplicates with the same filename but are used for a different software, it could cause a problem for your new installation of the software. Before you reinstall the software, make sure to clean the Temp folders.

The Local Settings folder is a hidden folder so you have to enable Windows Explorer to see hidden files and folders. Open Windows Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options > View and check show hidden files and folders. You can now open the Temp folder from the Documents and Settings folder and delete the files there before you make a new install.

Not the exact case, but reinstall didn't help me, but repair- yes.

I have uninstalled PI11

I have deleted all the entries in the two temp directories.

I have reinstalled PI11.

I always have some crashes during the startup process (in my case, the first crash has occured with the first launch !!!).

But ! Now, I have acces to the screen capture setup dialog !!!! It was a _very_ important problem in my case and this one is now resolved !

Thanks to all.

Please accept apologies for my broken english.
