Video file exceeds system size limit

Post by keithm »

Using Fat 32 which has a 4gb file limit. I import a 90 minute video captured from a DVB-T usb card. The file size is about 2.5 gb and is 704x576 (pal dvd size) and is variable bitrate. When I try to create a video (fast export or dvd compliant) is says file size over limit. it appears Ulead is making the file size bigger than the original. According to the options it should pick up the properties of the first video clip and make the video the same.

It's also very very slow at rendering the DVB-T to a DVD.

Hi

From File—Preferences—tick (show messages when inserting first video into timeline)

Start a NEW project
Insert your video.

You should get a ‘ulead video studio window’ prompting you to change the project settings.
This option works on most but not all files.

Select ‘details’ copy and paste’ the video properties to the forum.

Select ‘Yes’

The project properties should be set to match the video file properties, but I have just tried and I cannot get VS to auto' set 704 x 576 as a frame size it always uses 720 x 567.(can manually)
I tried to force a render at 704 x 576 but again the result was 720 x 576 (Strange)

It may be best to capture again using 720 x 576 as your frame size.

(check file – project properties)

Ok to continue:-

Now with the video file in the timeline Right Click the file and select Properties.
These properties should be the same but in addition include the :-

‘The File Size in KB’
‘The Total Frames ’
‘Duration in seconds’
‘And Data Rate’

What are they?

You do not mention Editing so I assume you want to burn direct to Dvd.

To Burn a Dvd:-

Delete the video clip from the timeline.
Got to Share—Create Disc
Add Video—add your video file.

Does the slider at the bottom show your file as being to big.
The left hand figures show the video size, the right the disc size.

PS I do not understand what you mean by ‘Fast Export’
