Error Reading Codec ???

Hi - I'm presently using MovieFactory 4 to edit some video but after editing - The film is fine via Ulead but when saved to mpeg according to instructions and viewed via Windows Media Player, there is a message 'error reading codec' and there is no volume on the film.

Any suggestions please? I need this for a presentation for work and this is "a bit of a nuisance."

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe your statement that it is "a bit of a nuicance" I don't want to sound rude and, please, don't get offended. With the wealth of information you have provided, one could only guess as to what might have gone wrong.

MediaPlayer, for starters, does not come with a DVD codec as standard.

Hi Heinz - no offence taken!

As this was my first post to the group I didn't know how much information to give... I couldn't really offer a whole lot more as video editing etc is not something I have done a lot of up till now. Sometimes we just have to trust that others will be generous with their expertise.

However, I have solved it by installing an AC3 filter. Once that was in place, everything was fine.
