When I burned a data dvd, I got the option to "verify". So I did and it failed. So I slowed the burn to a slower speed and got a successful burn.
So I decided I should be verifying my video dvd burns also, but I can't find the option. I have captured a video, edited it, previewed it, and then clicked Next to go into Burn, but can't find a setting to tell it to verify the burn.
How do I verify a DVD video burn?
It's always good to use the verify option when creating CD/DVD's.
MF uses the verify for data burning. It doesn't appear to be in the program
for dvd video creation.
Alternate method to burn and verify a dvd-video disk: Use Nero to burn the dvd
___________________________________________________________________
To verify a dvd-video disk in the disk creation screen click on the arrow
located on the right to display additional parameters.
Uncheck "Create Disk" and check on "Create dvd folders on harddisk".
Select a folder on the harddisk to create the dvd folders.
Close the MF program.
Open up Nero dvd burning program and select "New->Dvd-Video".
Drag the Video_ts folder from the harddisk into the Nero compilation window Video_ts folder.
When you burn using Nero select the "Verify" parameter (On the actual
burning screen).

Thanks for the reply. I don't have Nero, unfortunately, and it seems like a major omission from Ulead. I may have to look into buying Nero.
FYI, I downloaded a free program called "DiskCheck" which tests the dvd for errors. It's not the same as a "verify" but it's better than nothing. It did find some errors on some of my dvd's. Dvd's burned after I installed the September update patches seem to be much better than my earlier ones.
