I just bought a new DVD burner, came with MF4. I installed the software, seems to be working okay, got it resgistered, and now I'm playing with it.
Decided I'd check for any service packs, just to be sure I had any patches that might be available installed before I got into trouble. Found the update pack, downloaded it okay, but when I try to execute it it tells me "Setup can't find Ulead DVD Moviefactory 4.0 on your system." If I launch the program and have it running in the background, the installer tells me It can't install because "Ulead DVD Moviefactory 4.0 is running."
Anybody else run into this?
I am running XP sp2, and my home volume is _not_ C:; it's L:. Any chance that's causing the screw-up?

Yes I was having a similar problem. My MF4 came in a bundle of MediaStudio Pro 8. I cannot update it, nor locate and download the content for it. Ulead tect support informed me that since it's a bundled version (and not a separately-purchased one) - I cannot update it and am not entitled to free content. Perhaps your situation is similar.
Since I have both Adobe Encore DVD and Ulead DVD Workshop 2 - I figure I don't need this MF4 after all. My recommendation is that you abandon MF4 and switch to a serious DVD authoring application.

Maybe yours is not the same?
