I have been a user of Video Studio since I had one bundled with some hardware a few years ago and have kept up to date with the latest versions since.
I tried Media Studio 7 and found it a little mind blowing at the time and only used for small bits that couldnt be done in Video Studio such as moving paths.
However the very much improved media Studio 8 is so much better than version 7 and a lot easier to use. Looking at the stuff they pump out on the television like "24" (Kiefer Sutherland) There is nothing I have seen that I do not think I would be unable to re-produce with Media Studio.
Much of what can be achieved in Media Studio can also be achieved, albeit with a lot more time and work in Video Studio, such as having several picture in picture screens. The only real thing that is missing in Video Studio is "moving paths", but then - thats why you pay more.
Not a rhetorical question .....

Hi sjj .. thanks for your reply! One of the thoughts I have on programs and stability and such is that one mfgs programmers are likely to share ideas with the programmers for other products within the same family. I wonder if it is important to search through different mfgs programs to possibly find one who's approach to design is more stable right from the foundation.
I use DVD Workshop 2 as well as VS8 & 9, and it seems to me that all these programs share the same design and encoders. Not that this is a bad thing
I really like both of these programs so far, just that I wonder if perhaps the Media Studio is again basically the same design or engine as they call it with more extras.
I don't know a thing about the Mac environment, but it seems that the Windows / PC world is pretty much one band-aid on top of another, on top of a patch on top of a fix .... LOL. I guess how can we expect anything to run smoothly on a road riddled with bumps.
