Corrupted video files or codec

Post by Canadian Video »

I tried to load my video files, captured from a Sony VX2000 and saved to disk. They worked before, but now there is a garble of colour, although the audio is still working.

I can load other files created with MediaStudio, so I think it must be the Sony codec that is going wrong, although at times I can see the Source and at other times I can't.

This is the trial version of Version 8.

Any suggestions? I have 8 days left on the Trial, and I'm afraid if I re-install it I will get 'out of date'.

Sony 'eh? Hmm....

First thing that hits me is that the trial build is rather old (presuming it's the same one I have: 0013). If this is still the case it could be that some bugs are still present.

If you could give me a link to part of one of these files, preferrably one < 10 megs in size, I could try it for you in the final build.

Loads of questions present themselves. The obvious ones:
Are the AVI files unmodified, as captured from your cam?
Do they play in WMP or any other player?
Are your project settings compatible with the file format?
Are they DV type 1 or 2?
