Increasing Available Free Space

I've noticed that the amount of free space available to capture and edit is very low. I have sufficient amount of space available but the prefferences only allow a limited amount of space to use? How do I change the space allocation

I'm sorry, you are talking in riddles. Can you please reword the question in full detail, describing what is happening and what you are trying to do. If, by 'space', you mean free HDD space, please give details of how your drives and partitions are set up.
