File Size is increasing in DWS 2
First, I have been using DWS 2 ever since it came out and have had no problems at all. Have made hundreds of DVD's. Started out this morning and burned 3 or 4 with no problems. THen all of a sudden I go to make another one (which is exactly the same as the other 3) and the file is 2.7 gb, but when I pull it in the edit pannel it shows as 4.6 gb. Any ideas why it is all of a sudden doubling the size of the file?

File size
Sorry for not being clear... I open DWS 2, create the name of the project, then pull in the mpeg file from directory. So it is sititng in DWS2 in the video section, then I drag it over to the "new title" area so I can edit.
I know that the file is only 2.7gb, when I full it into DWS2 it shows it as 4.6 gb

Is the mpeg-2 file non-compliant and it is showing the estimated size after re-encoding?

I've had this several times too and when you do the actual output, being it DVD, folder or image file, it reverts to normal size.
Movie Factory 4 and VS8/VS9 dot that too sometimes, with perfectly legal video files (Video Studio does it with its' own files).
Yesterday I had a 4.3 GB file, fits right on the DVD
I saw the file begins ONE FRAME too soon (last image of previous clip still in). Returning to WS2's edit screen I advance one frame then use the Mark-In to skip the first.
Back to output section the files size is now 4.5GB and does not fit on the DVD anymore. Go figure...

Easy enough to figure: your project settings are not the same as the settings for the original file.

yes they were, quadruple-checked, and it's my defaults settings (the one on the top template, always use the same.
Couldn't believe, but fully reproduceable.
The same bug in WS2, VS8, VS9, MF4. Happens from time to time.
Most of the time when you save, exit the program and re-load it corrects the sizes, but not always.
I repeat, rendered files are the right size, if it agrees to go on with just a warning.
In MF4 I had it fall back on it's feet by selecting a moving menu (increases reported size, then going back to static menu)
Then you can have sizes reported as 6.4GB, 6.5GB, 3.7GB. Not always.
