Pics Gone from Recovered PS2 File

Post by battm »

I have installed a new hard drive and am using the failed drive as a slave so I can recover data. I recovered a slide-show-in-progress and successfully moved it to the same folder with all of the pictures that I had used. I can see the face plate of the slide show with the different "chapters" showing on the layout, but when I try to open the project, it asks me if I wish to delete the pictures that are no longer available. Fact is, all of the pictures, music and title and division slides are in the same folder as the recovered PS2 file.

Is there a way to really recover my work or must I start over? If you can't recover and keep on working, what's the point of backing up your hard drive for PS purposes? Surely I'm not the first person to have a hard drive crash with a slideshow in progress.

HELP!

Is there a relink button from where you must relink the photos again to your project? If it doesn't have, I guess you have to remake your presentation. In having PS backup, I guess you must have included PictureShow folders from your mydocuments to prevent these problems.

Hope this helps. ^_^

I have looked and I do not see a "relink" option. Where would I normally find this?

relink

I don't know how to find it since I guess it has something to do with your system settings with PS to determine if your project is still linkable. As to what I have experienced before I can see a Relink button when photos are moved to a different location to have them relinked with your project again. I guess you have to remake your project. :D

Thanks for the feedback. This does not make me happy -- I guess I am surprised that a program with the power of PS2, 3, or whatever version is the latest, does not have a better save feature than this. Oh well . . .
