burning to dvd-rw
when i attempt to burn to a dvd-rw disc (that already has recorded material on it) videostudio wont let me because there is not enough available space on the disc. how do i force videostudio to record over the old material on this disc (it being a rewrittable disc), thanks. is there some sort of format or erase disk function in videostudio9.

Hi
The Erase Disc option should become active when VS recognises the disc as a RW type.
Look at the ‘Disc Information’ in the upper panel.
If it reads ‘Empty’ then your dvd drive is not reading your disc. Not a VS problem, but maybe a compatibility problem between your disc and burner.
There is no recommended procedure for using different types of disc.
Although Ulead do have a compatibility list of burners and discs on there web site.
I have used RW disc’s with success, VS overwriting the disc, but on occasions would not work until I erased the data.
If you have other burner software such as Nero, use that to erase the disc.
