when using MovieFactory 3Disc Creator, for processing video files in Mpeg, durring Video/Audio Multiplexing, the program crashes, giving the message "source file had some problems (5004)", "cannot create file". on the same page is the information, required/available - 11.8gig/20.5gig. Working Folder Required/avail 32.3mb/20.5gig. To the best of my knowledge thevideo files are intact and viewable. all files are synchronized for video and audio.
Thanks, in advance.
crash when processing video for DVD
Corrupt or non-compliant MPEGs will sometimes play OK, but crash DVD authoring programs. It's even more common for bad files to cause A/V sync problems when the files are re-multiplexed....the video files are intact and viewable. all files are synchronized for video and audio.
Audio / Video players have to be tolerant, because they shouldn't crash if the data-stream gets delayed or interrupted. I don't know why editors and DVD authoring programs can't be more tolerant too!
Sometimes, simply editing an MPEG can generate a corrupted file unless you use a special-purpose MPEG editor, like Womble $100.
I've been compiling a list of programs that are supposed to fix MPEGs:
PVAStrumento $FREE!!!
Project-X $FREE!!!
All Media Fixer $20-30
VideoReDo $50
Womble MPEG Video Wizard $100
MPEG Repair HD $4000 !!!!
I've been using Womble as an MPEG editor for almost a year, and the results have always been good if I start-out with a good MPEG. Several of the members here have had good results with VideoReDo.
However, I have a "bad" MPEG I'm working on right now. It plays fine on Windows Media Player, and opens OK in Womble, but it crashes all of my Ulead programs. None of the above tools has fixed it... so far... (Of course I haven't tried the $4000 program!)
