I'm testing the MediaStudio Trial V8 .
When I load and play a video created on my Canon S1IS (.avi) in the VEditor I heard only the sound and there is no video (but garbage) displayed. When I play this video with QT I don't have this problem. Do I something wrong or sis I miss something?
Any help is welcome

Your cam is not a real video device. It records in 640 x 480 format at 30 fps. You must set your project settings accordingly, using a compatible codec. It is NOT DV!

Sorry, you wil have to look in the cam manual to find details of how they put the video into an avi wrapper, or contact the manufacturer.
You may also get a clue by right-clicking, Properties|Summary|Advanced.
You see, an avi file is meaningless. It is just like brown paper used to wrap a parcel, which may contain the Hope diamond or dog s**t. There is no way of knowing what is in it until you open it.

Get GSpot utility from <http://gspot.headbands.com> (I recommend 2.52 Beta 1 release). It will tell you what codec your AVI file needs. Then you'll know what video codec to search for.
Alternatively, your cam manual should tell you.
