Is it possible, in MSP8, to select a group of clips and then assign a default transition to them (so that they automatically overlap at a specified interval)? It would save me a lot of laborious clicking and moving clips along the timeline.
I thought I'd seen this topic elsewhere in the forum, but I cannot find it.

Automating transitions in MSP8?
Yes, it's possible, if you work from the Project Tray. The default transition is set in Preferences|Edit for manual work. For applying automatic transitions, copy all your clips to Storyboard, select them and right-click Copy to Timeline. A dialogue comes up, allowing you to adjust the automatic overlap and select the transition (if different from the default one set in Preferences) or even select random transitions (not a very good idea, though!).
