ULead cant read audio from SONY CAM files

I have ULead8- cant read sound on video files from Sony dvd cam (sound is only problem- video ok)- but Sony software ImageMixer has no troubles. Have tried with UL7 and other software on other computers. No luck with UL7 but will play ok with other simple software editing packages and on Ulead Media Pro.

What is problem?
Has it been fixed in ULVS9?

I have a sony camcorder and VS9 and have no problems with capture.
Why not try out the 30 day free trial?

Your Sony probably recorded the audio using AC-3 Dolby Digital format, which Videostudio 8 does not support without an optional plugin. The cost of the plugin is a big chunk of the cost of upgrading from Videostudio 8 to Videostudio 9, which included AC-3 support out-of-the-box.

Also, the 30-day Videostudio 9 trial does not include AC-3 support, so anything imported with it will also not include audio.

Well I've taken your advice - did not bother with UVS9 download trial - got the full version - and yes thankgoodness all sound files being read.
