How to create movie from both 16:9 and 4:3 clips

Post by GreyWolf »

I'm pretty new to Video Studio so bear with me....I'm using VS8 and want to capture video clips to make into a 16:9 format DVD. Most of the clips were filmed in 16:9, so no problems there. However, some of the clips are in 4:3 format. My project settings are 16:9 format, and I have captured the 4:3 clips using these settings, but find that they are (not surprisingly) stretched in the preview window. Is there some way to crop them? Or should I capture them in 4:3 format and import into the 16:9 project?

If you place your 4.3 clips on the overlay track then you can stretch them anyway you wish you make make them taller, wider, even distorted.
