Crashing when selecting MPEG4
This program seams very unstable, are there any other validated software packages that work.
I assume that you have an existing MPEG-4 file... that you are not trying to create an MPEG-4 from an AVI file???
There is a good chance that you're working with a corrupt or non-compliant source file. Just because it plays OK does not mean it can be edited or re-coded.
Are you trying to edit an MPEG-4? I haven't used MPEG-4, but MPEGs are NOT meant to be edited. I've created corrupted MPEG-2s by editing them with Ulead products (MF3 & VS8).
I'm not sure if any other programs are more tolerant, but like Ulead, most other video-software manufacturers offer 30-day free-trials. You can try-out Pinnacle, Adobe, Sony, etc.

Editing MPEG 4 files.
I have reloaded the software - it now does not crash every time.
I now find it very difficult to edit the files created using my MPEG 4 video camera. The software does not seam logical or allow me to cut sections from the files.
I might try the Abode package.
It is a pity that the camera manufacturers do not package their products with good quality software tools.
